CERT Training

The Cypress Creek CERT will host CERT training at the Cypress Creek Fire Department Station 24, 12073 Perry Road Houston, Texas 77070.  The training is free and open to the public.  Training will be held each Thursday from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., beginning June 16, 2022 and ending August 11, 2022. The Pasadena Campus (BakerRipley) CERT will host CERT training at BakerRipley Pasadena Campus 720 Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena, Texas 77504.  The training is free and open to the public.  The classes are in SPANISH. Training will be held each Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., beginning July 12, 2022 and ending August 30, 2022. El Campus en Pasadena (BakerRipley) CERT tendrán clases de CERT en Español a BakerRipley Pasadena Campus 720 Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena, Texas 77504. Todas las clases son gratis para el público. Cy-Fair Area CERT training will be held at the Lone Star College-Cy-Fair Emergency Services Education Center, 18132 West Road, Cypress, Texas 77433. Training will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., starting August 23, 2022, and ending October 4, 2022. The class will be limited to 30 participants. HC ESD 48 Fire Department and Katy Area CERT will be offering CERT Training at the HC ESD 48 FD, Station 5, located at 21201 Morton Road, Katy, TX  77449 between North Fry Road and North Mason Road.  Training is FREE and open to the public.  Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, starting September 1, 2022 and ending September 27, 2022. The Humble Area CERT will host CERT training at the Harris County Fire and Sheriff Training Academy, 2316 Atascocita Road, Humble, Texas 77396. Training will be held each Monday from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., beginning September 26, 2022 and ending November 14, 2022. IS-317.A: Introduction to Community Emergency Response Team (CERTs)

This FEMA Independent Study online course is an introduction to the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program for those interested in learning about the CERT program. The course includes three lessons: Introduction to CERT, What CERTs Do, and Becoming Involved. Remember: It is important to understand that completion of this Independent Study course is not equivalent to, and cannot be used in place of the classroom delivery of the CERT Basic training. To become a CERT volunteer, you must complete the classroom training.

IS-315.A: CERT and the Incident Command System (ICS)

This Independent Study (IS) course introduces you to the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) relationship to the Incident Command System (ICS), a proven management system used by emergency managers to help maintain the safety of disaster workers, provide clear leadership and organizational structure, and improve the effectiveness of rescue efforts. This program educates any Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program manager, CERT trainer, or emergency responder who may manage and/or coordinate with a CERT about the CERT’s potential roles in a disaster or emergency situation.
